A time-lapse video stopwatch: Record something difficult. Speed it up to share on social. Prove you did it.
The Seven2 Hacks-a-Thon · February 18 – March 13, 2026
The Seven2 Hacks-a-Thon turned a room full of self-described "non-developers" into shipping product builders. The throughline in nearly every reflection was the same surprise: going from a raw idea to a working prototype was far more doable than anyone expected. As one teammate put it, it was genuinely surprising "to see how actually doable it is to go from idea to MVP."
The mindset shift mattered more than any single tool. People learned to treat AI as a collaborator rather than a vending machine - "less about asking once and more about collaborating and refining as you go." Several discovered they could be a "product architect," moving design-first and trusting the build to keep up. The recurring advice to nervous first-timers was disarmingly simple: just start, keep it small, and let it be fun.
Beyond the 19 projects and a night of demos, the lasting output was momentum. Teammates left with new ideas they actually intend to pursue, a more approachable view of what they can create, and - in the words of one builder - a fresh instinct to think "I could make a solution for that" instead of waiting for someone else to. The most Seven2 takeaway of all came from the facilitator's own reflection on what surprised him most: "How much fun everybody else had."

“How much fun everybody else had”
“It sounds a little silly and simple, but shifting the mindset to Just say yes is all it might take for some people. It's all trial and error, so getting in there and giving it a shot is the best way to garner some excitement for this approach.”
“Specifically, it's the realization that you don't have to choose between being a designer or a developer—you can be a product architect.”
“That the more specific and intentional I was (like tone for example), the better the output! It's less about asking once and more about collaborating with AI and refining as you go :)”
“Just jump in. It's not even close to as daunting as it seems like it's going to be.”
“Really surprised me to see how actually doable it is to go from idea to MVP.”
“Yes! Per above, it was easier than I expected and super cool to think that it's possible! I have definitely found myself thinking in response to every problem I have recently, oh I could make a solution for that rather than someone should make an app for that.”
“Just start! And refine.”
